Calendar For Adopt-A-Brook Trout and Habitat Material

The table below lists, for each month of the school year, a monthly theme and the materials about the topic. Materials are arranged with articles of general information first, followed by suggestions for student activities and articles that might be included in a student newsletter. The appendices provide some additional practical information about aquariums, chiller units, and tank/fish maintenance. Appendices also include samples of curriculum-related projects conducted by the schools in our area.

You can get to the materials by going through the monthly pages, which give an overview of the month as well as providing links to the materials. You can also go directly to the materials using the links in the calendar below.

We have indicated which material was derived from the AASF curriculum for Atlantic Salmon. We modified this material, which contains basic information you will need, so that it could be used with Brook Trout. The remainder of the material was developed by the Boquet River Association for both Brook Trout and Habitat Issues.
